Copyright and takedowns
Two different requests with two different urgencies: intimate images shared without consent, and ordinary copyright complaints.
Effective
What this page is for
Calls on this service are not recorded and not published, so there is normally no library of content here for anyone to infringe. This page covers the cases that do arise: material appearing in the parts of the site we do publish, and — separately and more urgently — intimate images of you that someone captured and put somewhere.
Intimate images shared without your consent
This comes first because it is the more urgent case and it should not be buried under a copyright procedure.
If someone recorded you during a call and you did not agree to it, write to [email protected] with NON-CONSENSUAL in the subject line. Say when the call happened and anything you can describe about the other person. It is pulled out of the ordinary queue.
Be direct about what we can and cannot do. On this service, the account is banned and any report evidence is preserved for a referral where one is warranted. If the recording has been posted somewhere else, that site controls whether it comes down — we can tell you what we know and give you what you need to make that request, but we cannot remove something from a service we do not run.
Making a copyright complaint
Send the following. A complaint missing any of it cannot be acted on, not out of pedantry but because acting on an unidentifiable claim would mean removing something on someone's say-so.
- Identification of the work you own, or a link to where it legitimately appears.
- The exact URL on this site where the copy appears.
- Your name and a working email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
- Your signature — typed is fine.
Send it to [email protected] with COPYRIGHT in the subject line.
What happens then
A person reads it. If the complaint is complete and the material is ours to remove, it comes down while the claim is assessed rather than after — the reverse order would mean leaving disputed material up for as long as the argument takes.
You will get a reply telling you what was done. If the complaint cannot be acted on, you will be told which part is missing rather than being met with silence.
If your material was removed and you think that was wrong
Write to the same address with COUNTER-NOTICE in the subject. Include what was removed and where it was, your contact details, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification. It will be reviewed by a person and you will get an answer either way. Same address: [email protected].
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly attract upheld complaints are terminated. There is no fixed number that triggers it, because a rule stated as a number is a rule people count against.
